Airport Authority Board

The Airport Authority Board is a volunteer nine-member board established through transition of city-owned to airport authority between three counties: Benton, Sherburne and Stearns. It acts in review, advisory, and decision-making capacity regarding airport operation and construction.

The St. Cloud City Council, along with the Benton, Sherburne, and Stearns County Boards of Commissioners have created a Regional Airport Authority to govern and manage the St. Cloud Regional Airport for the following purposes:

  • promote the public welfare and to service the public interest, convenience and necessity
  • promote national, state and local air navigation and transportation
  • develop the full potential of aviation in the St. Cloud Regional Airport as an aviation center
  • and provide for the most economical and effective use of aeronautic facilities and services located at the St. Cloud Regional Airport

Each government entity appoints two members to the Airport Authority Commission. In addition, one Commissioner is appointed by mutual agreement of the four entities.
